About The Author
Sebastiano Accaputo was born in a small town close to Siracusa, Sicily, where the hundred-year-old Sicilian traditions are still kept alive. He spent his childhood in the typical Sicilian country, well-known for
its lush vegetation, where he developed his love for cooking traditions. He likes to
experiment with different types of ingredients and try several methods
of getting the best possible results from them.
Sebastiano credits his parents, both keen and
successful food lovers, with inspiring him to cook traditional
Sicilian recipes by letting him cooking from his own from an early
age.
He says, “They let me choose what I wanted to
achieve and gave me a lot of practical help as well as advice.”
“But, they made it clear that I would have to
do most of the work myself if I wanted to get good results. That is
an excellent way to teach children about responsibility and
rewards.”
Sebastiano thinks that too many people believe
that good food means lot of time for cooking and expensive
ingredients. Actually they are quite wrong. Sicilian recipes start
